New work created for the Petroleum - The Paradox call. Hope it will make it to the show.
An installation that questions our dependence on oil in the production of textiles. Clothing outfits for each day of the week (Monday through Sunday) are arranged in a circular pattern to imply repetition. Price tags visualize the petroleum based content of each garment. The percentages of petroleum based content are derived from information provided by the clothing & fabric manufacturers. The display for each individual day resembles an oil spill. Names of the manufacturers are hidden from view.
